Golf Club Borgarnes was founded January 21st 1973.  Three years later a part of farm Hamar's property was leased for a period of 25 years for the golf course.  In 1978 the farmer's family home was contracted to the club.  After its restoration it offers all necessary facilities for club members and accommodation for travellers as well.  The golf course is now considered among the most interesting ones in the country.

There are more than 50 Golf Courses in Iceland of all shapes and sizes. Playing in the midnight sun is an experience you will not forget and most Golf Courses have a stunning scenery that can easily interupt your golf.

All Golf Courses in Iceland are open puplic Golf Courses but it can be difficult to get tee times on the most popular ones. Many golfers in Reykjavik Area even prefer to drive out in the countryside to play on less occupied Courses.
